If you are ready to ditch and switch your chemical based skincare products for all natural, organic beauty products, you may have some questions. Whether you’re wondering why you should switch your skincare routine to why you should use tallow-based products, we are tackling some of your most popular questions about tallow-based beauty.
YOUR TOP TALLOW-BASED BEAUTY QUESTIONS
WHY SHOULD I SWITCH MY CURRENT SKINCARE PRODUCTS WITH NATURAL AND ORGANIC BEAUTY PRODUCTS?
The average American woman is exposed to 168 different chemical compounds a day just from their personal care products alone. Shocking, we know. Many of these chemicals are known to be cancer-causing, hormone disrupting and can negatively impact our overall health, so why would we continue using them?
Also, the majority of skincare products found on drugstore shelves or on the counters of department stores are overpriced and filled with ingredients that are cringe-worthy. Skincare is like nutrition: If you wouldn’t eat something you can’t pronounce, why would you but it on your skin? In fact, whatever you put on your skin will eventually find its way into your bloodstream, so using natural and organic products makes sense. Keep skincare simple and look to natural ingredients found in Mother Nature instead of synthetic creams and chemical based topicals.
WHAT IS TALLOW AND WHY SHOULD I USE IT ON MY SKIN?
You may be wondering, what exactly is tallow? Good question! Tallow is the rendered fat from beef or mutton. Our products only use the tallow rendered from pasture-raised, grass-fed cows because we believe in putting only the best on our skin, and in completing the life cycle of these beautiful animals by subscribing to a nose-to-tail philosophy. It may sound surprising, but tallow closely matches the fatty acid profile of our skin cells, so by adding tallow to our skincare routine, we are keeping our skin cells hydrated and supple. Tallow also contains a significant amount of Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA), which is naturally anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and has anticancer properties. Best of all, tallow is non-toxic and completely safe to use! Learn more about our ingredients here.
WON’T TALLOW CLOG MY PORES?
We all want clear pores so we can have acne-free skin, so it may sound contradictory to slather fat on your face, which is why one of the most frequently asked questions people ask us is, “Won’t tallow clog my pores?” The answer is simply, no. Providing your skin with external sources of healthy fats, like tallow, can help combat issues like acne, dry skin, aging, discoloration and other signs of cell damage. However, when you initially switch your skincare products, you may notice some breakouts. This is completely normal and should not last long. Sometimes the skin needs to go through a little detox as it reblanaces its pH levels and adjusts to new products. Give yourself about two weeks to balance everything out and remember to hydrate and eat plenty of fresh foods to help fuel your body with extra nourishment during this time.
WHY DO ALL OF YOUR PRODUCTS SMELL SO GOOD?
Well first of all, thank you! We’re glad you enjoy the scents of all of our products, but the reason they smell so good is because we use essential oils like lavender, frankincense, helichrysum, cayenne and turmeric. Besides their amazing benefits and healing properties, all of these essential oils smell lovely and evoke feelings of relaxation that will soothe the senses. We want each and every one of our products to make you feel as if you are entering your favorite spa for a luxurious experience, even if you are just at home!
HOW OFTEN CAN I USE AMARA MARIE?
All day every day! You can use Amara Marie as often as you would like. Whether it is day or night or both, you can use Amara Marie any time of day. However, we do recommend using our Deep Cleansing Charcoal Bar only 1-3 times a week to prevent drying out your skin and we suggest only using the Vitamin-C Anti-Aging Serum at night. If for any reason you experience irritation using any one of our products, discontinue use immediately.
